Terms and Conditions

By attending this event (the “Event”), you acknowledge that photography and video recording may take place. Your image and likeness (“Image Personal Data”) may be captured and used by Dawn Capital LLP (“Dawn” or “we”), our affiliates, Event organisers, service providers, and sponsors for legitimate business purposes, including promotional materials. Dawn processes your Image Personal Data in accordance with our privacy notice, available on our website. If you have questions about how we handle your Image Personal Data or prefer not to be photographed or recorded, please contact us at notices@dawncapital.com before the Event.

You acknowledge that your personal data submitted as part of your hackathon application (including your name, email address, phone number, LinkedIn profile, university and or company name, related websites, submitted projects, and participation data such as scoring results) (“Marketing Personal Data”) may be used for direct marketing purposes by Dawn. Dawn processes your Marketing Personal Data in accordance with our privacy notice, available on our website. If you have any questions about how your Marketing Personal Data is being used or if you prefer that we do not use your Marketing Personal Data for direct marketing purposes, either for this Event or for any following events, please contact us at notices@dawncapital.com.

Please note that Dawn may collect and process your personal data submitted as part of your hackathon application, including your name, email address, and LinkedIn profile, and other materials that you provide, such as projects that you submit through your application or during the hackathon competition. Additionally, we may collect and process data relating to your participation in the competition, including any scoring or evaluation results (“Talent Personal Data”). Dawn may share your Talent Personal Data with Dawn’s current portfolio companies, prospective portfolio companies and the Event sponsors for the purpose of presenting them with a potential talent pool. Some of these recipients may be located in countries outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area, including the United States of America; any such international transfer will be subject to appropriate safeguards, including an international data transfer agreement or equivalent mechanism. Your Talent Personal Data is collected, processed and shared in accordance with our privacy notice which you can find on our website. If you have any questions relating to the collection, processing or sharing of your Talent Personal Data, or if you object to this processing, please contact Gamila Hassan at gamila@dawncapital.com.

Dawn may collect and process your personal data, including, but not limited to, your name and contact details, for legitimate business purposes, including to administer the Event (“Administration Personal Data”). We may also share your Administration Personal Data with third parties such as printing companies or API credit providers that process your Administration Personal Data on our behalf and only for the purposes related to the Event. Dawn processes your Administration Personal Data in accordance with our privacy notice, available on our website. If you have questions about how your Administration Personal Data is handled, please contact us at notices@dawncapital.com before the Event.

By attending this Event, you agree to assume all of the risks pertaining to and / or associated with the Event, and, to the full extent permitted by applicable law, you agree (i) to waive, release, and discharge Dawn, its affiliated entities and any external organisers, service providers and / or sponsors (as applicable to the Event), from any and all liability for negligent property damage, property theft or actions of any kind which may hereafter accrue to you, and (ii) to indemnify and hold harmless any of the aforementioned against any and all loss, liabilities or claims made by any other individuals or entities as a result of your actions at the Event.

Prizes awarded in connection with this Event are provided solely by the relevant sponsor(s) of the Event (each a "Prize Provider"). Dawn has no involvement in the administration, facilitation, delivery or fulfilment of any such prizes and accepts no liability whatsoever in connection with them, including for any failure to deliver, defect, loss, damage, or dispute arising out of or in connection with a prize. All queries and claims relating to prizes must be directed to the relevant Prize Provider. By participating in the Event, you acknowledge and agree that your sole recourse in relation to any prize lies against the relevant Prize Provider. Prizes may be conditional on successful completion of applicable KYC checks and/or provision of relevant bank account or other details; if a prize winner does not complete such checks and/or does not provide relevant bank account or other details within a certain period of time as may be specified by the relevant Prize Provider, the prize may be forfeited. Prizes may be treated as taxable income to the prize winners under the applicable law. Each prize winner is solely responsible for any applicable taxes, duties, or other charges arising from acceptance, receipt, or use of the prize. Neither Dawn nor any Prize Provider provides tax advice and will not gross up, reimburse, or otherwise compensate prize winners for any tax liabilities. Non-cash prizes may be substituted for an alternative prize of comparable value at the Prize Provider’s discretion.

Any intellectual property rights in any outputs created, developed, or delivered in connection with this Event (including, without limitation, prototypes, code, designs, documentation, data, and data-generated outputs) will remain the property of the relevant participants and/or participating teams and will not transfer or be assigned to Dawn, or to any co-organiser or sponsor.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.

Dawn reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time without prior notice. Any amendments will take effect immediately upon publication. Participants are encouraged to review these Terms and Conditions periodically prior to the Event.
